Happy 2016, everyone! It has been quite some time since I last shared my thoughts on skincare with you here. I'm sure that - during this time since I've been away - you've been diligently monitoring your skin and taking care of it... right? :0)
I'm delighted to be back here on vklSKIN. My mission since the beginning was (and still is) to influence people to think differently about their skin and skincare regimen and to really empower people to make confident choices on getting to their ideal skin through the world of Korean skincare. I hope that I can continue with you along your journey this year to finding your holy grail products and exposing you to various skincare things you may have never known about or paid attention to. This is a fun adventure, and there is a handful of risks involved especially if you find out that a product doesn't work for you, but keep an open mind and you will eventually tame your skin. Don't be on the fence about it; try it for yourself!
Without further ado, this week's product is a new kind of gourmet mask in the market. WHAMISA's Organic Sea Kelp Facial Sea Mask is made out of 100% real sea kelp (straight from the ocean). There is no biocellulose, hydrogel, or cotton fibers here; just cookie-cutted pieces of sea kelp in the shape of a two-piece face mask (for better fit). The mask is soaked in a nutritional serum of fermented sea kelp and bamboo.
If you haven't heard from all the latest Korean beauty buzz, fermentation is great for your skin because the process allows new enzymes to form that pack a nutritional punch (efficacy of the best ingredients is increased). In addition, the breakdown of compounds during the fermentation process allows your body to easily absorb nutrients. You'd rather your skin take in more of the good, right?
One thing I should point out to those with sensitive noses is the scent of this face mask. Personally, I don't really like the smell of the ocean and I also don't eat seafood because I'm not a fan of the smell (and taste). When I used this mask, I thought that the seaweed scent was really strong (oh, before I forget - the sea kelp isn't really that flimsy at all); however, many people who love the ocean find that the scent reminds them of the sea breeze. It really depends on your personal preferences.
In terms of the results, I have too many great things to say. You can see the results instantly. This is the most moisturizing mask I've used - ever (so far). The mask brightens, moisturizes, fights wrinkles, and evens out skin texture. If you can afford to use this mask twice a week, I'm sure your skin is on its way to perfection in no time. There is also so much serum in the packet that you can use on your neck and hands!
Currently, Glow Recipe is the only place online that sells this premium face mask for all skin types. If you want a face mask that delivers results and are tired of using cheaper face masks that don't do much for your skin, treat yourself to this organic sea kelp mask! Your skin will thank you for it!
